Mr. Matthews is a native of Alabama. He is a 1991 graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a 1993 graduate of their physicians assistant school in surgery. He previously worked for CVT and then in Colorado Springs, CO. and rejoined CVT 2005.

Mr. Matthews is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physicians Assistants and is a member of the AAPA.
